I wanted to learn from this amazing community: How do we grow our GitHub profile and projects, and gain followers and stars?

Specifically, I’d love to know:

▶️ Best ways to get more stars on our repositories.

▶️ How to attract followers who genuinely engage with your work.

▶️ Practices that make a project stand out (README, documentation, visuals, etc.)

▶️ How you promote your repos outside GitHub (socials, blogs, dev communities because I don't have any big community even outside github)

If you’ve tried something that worked please share your story! I think this discussion could help many developers and tech enthusiasts who want to build visibility in open source.

There is no real shortcut for this.
The repos that grow usually do a few basics very well:
• build something genuinely useful
• write a clear README with setup, screenshots, and examples
• keep the project active with regular fixes and improvements
• make it easy for others to try, use, and contribute

Stars and followers usually come as a result of consistency and useful work, not growth tricks.
If you want more visibility, share your project where the right audience already is, but the project itself still has to be worth coming back to.
